Planck's Place

Welcome. If you are here, then more than likely it means you were invited. What is a blog you say? Well, it's a type of website run a bit like a news letter. I can edit and add things as often as I like. So in a way it's a journal online. I created this just to share with our family and friends across the miles. Check back often and add comments when you feel so compelled. Most of the photos are of Emily, but if you look often enough, you will catch the occasional one of Tony and I.

A Weekend at the Beach

This weekend we had so much fun camping at the beach in Longview. We stayed at a private campground, went to town and rode on some rides, fished, ate, played in the water, and just relaxed! Here's some photos to enjoy.......

Daddy shows Emily this ins and outs of fishing at the campground.

Mom and Emily have fun on the rides in town.

Roasting hot dogs over a campfire pit is just the bestest!

Tony waits patiently for his turn for a hot dog......

Emily takes a minute to enjoy the cold water to get a break from the summer heat.

A Trip to Crooked River Ranch

We took a trip to a friends cabin in Central Oregon this past weekend. It was a complete blast. So relaxing, and full of scenery and wildlife! Thank you to Karen and Keith for this great weekend! Below are some of the photos I took while there, Enjoy!

Our first stop on our trip was to hunt for a letterbox in the gorgeous Mt Hood Nat'l forest. This is Millie in the meadow..... Not exactly into having her photo taken!

Central Oregon at speed from the car window. I shot this just coming out of the Warm Springs area fromthe car window.

Central Oregon Desert. This is past Warm Springs going in to the central part of Oregon before Maupin.

We stopped at the visitor center in Warm Springs Indian Reservation. Here's Tony and Emily waving hello in front of a tee pee.

A view of Mt Jefferson from the cabin window.

Crooked River Canyon, near the cabin.

The view from the top of the penninsula, where we planted our first Central Oregon letterbox. This is over Lake Billy Chinook.

On top of the world!

A Turkey Vulture flies above us....

I spied a spotted fawn observing me just up on the hillside at the cabin.

Quiet little Doe sneaking by. The deer came down to the cabin throughout the day. Emily even had one eat cracked corn right out of her hand!

Millie got to play in the sprinklers at the cabin.

what fun!

Double take! On the last day of our stay, we got to see three baby and adult screech owls, right outside the back of the cabin. They were not shy at all, what a treat!

Independence Day!

Happy Fourth everyone! We spent the early part of the day packing up camp from Silver Falls, and heading home. We got home in time to nap then go out and play with fireworks and watch the neighbors light theirs also. Emily was thrilled, she really got into it this year.

Just like Mom! Emily had to go and get her (toy) camera!

Camping Trip extrodinaire!

We took a long weekend to vacation and camp at Silver Falls State Park over this 4th of July. It was fantastic, we hiked, letterboxed, and played endlessly for 5 days! The falls were gorgeous, I had no idea there were so many so relatively close to our home area. It's about 2 hours from where we live, and we plan to go back really soon. There are miles and miles and miles of trails we couldn't possible explore them all in one visit. This has definately become a favorite in our book of fun places to go play now! We difinately found a new appreciation for the outdoors here in our area. I am suprized at how everytime we go out, I find something more to be in awe over, and it's all in our backyard practically. the PNW is so fantastic!

South Falls, at Silver Falls State Park. We are able to take a path and walk behind it.

Behind the falls at Silver Falls State Park. It was very cool. Several of the Falls in the Park we were able to walk behind!
