For the birds

We have babies! I was a bit worried about the little guys in this heat, last year we had a batch that didn't make it, so I stuck a nail in the side of the house and mounted a desk fan on it aimed at the birdhouse about 2 feet away, the parents didn't mind and it did help cool things off, ya I am a sap... It's pretty interesting to watch the sparrows, they feed the babies in a colony, who knows who the real parents are, cause there are at least a dozen adults coming to feed constantly, they actually wait in line to feed next along our fence out back! It was so hot, different species of birds were accomodating each other for the bird bath, this robin bathed in the middle of the sparrows, while a blue jay waited one the ground and a crow on the fence behind (no doubt waiting for me to leave, not the little ones, he took over as soonas I left)

Summer Splashin'

Here's some cooling off shots, we put the 8 foot wading pool up for Emily yesterday, even though she relly can use a bigger one, she is thankful to have this one to play in still!

SUMMER IS HERE!

Oh the carefree days of summer have arrived, and it is HOT I tell you, that photo of the thermo is in the shade!

I spiced up the color, added the bubble on the wand, then added photos of her dressed in her fairy wings to the bubbles, I still may work on it more, I will post if I change it...

We spent the day lounging around mostly, went to brunch, went to the park, then went to see the movie Cars, a way cool day, hope you liked it Dad!

Emily's Birthday party

Saturday was Emily's birthday party. Lots of kids came, and she got lots of great gifts! Thanks to all...

BUBBLES!

Emily discovered that if she spins with wand in hand, it makes bubbles too... What is it with kids blowing bubbles that is so fun to photograph?

Emily got herself a brand new pair of roller blades, these are her very fist, and her first time ever trying them out! Stay tuned for bloody knee photos and scraped hands! (lol)

New Skates!

Emily just aquired her very first pair of roller blades. She loves them, and is even "out on her own" after one day. So far no falls, but it's coming I am sure. Here's some pictures.

Summer is here!

Well, not officially until June 21st (which is also Emily's birthday)
Our summer break has finally begun for Emily and I. Poor Tony still gets to work. We have lots of fun things planned, and are looking forward to a break in the rainy weather. Here are some photos to enjoy.
